The company supervised the establishment and digging of a major channel to the right of the Tigris River, including several sub-channels with a total estimated capacity of 1.74 cubic meters per second. The objective of the channel was to reclaim non-agricul-tural lands and removing excess salinity, while delivering irrigation water to agricultural lands. The channel also has an important role in regulating water distribution and irrigation operations which contributes to the preservation of water resources, using it optionally to increase farmland and productivity of each dunam which will lead to an economic situation in the boom.
The company was also responsible for building the main pumping station, and executing all adjustments and leveling works for the channel and all of its branches.
