The dam was built in Dohuk Governorate, 40 km west of the city toward Zakho. The project aimed to house 1.4 million cubic meters of rain water to be used in the summer for agricultural and touristic purposes. The project included the establishment of an earth-filled dam that is 22.5 M high with stone veneer that contains a port for the discharge of water when needed. A concrete waterway was built to let excess water pass through. All soil, concrete, and stone cladding works for the project were conducted efficiently within the contract period. Therefore the beneficiary of the project sent a letter of appreciation to the Company for its efforts.
